Community Message: Use of Catapults |
||
|
Dear Residents,
We have recently received reports of criminal damage in the local area believed to have been caused by ball bearings being fired from a catapult.
While catapults may be owned and used legally in certain circumstances, using them in public places, residential areas, parks, or in any manner that risks injury, distress, or property damage is unacceptable and may constitute a criminal offence.
The misuse of catapults can cause significant harm to people, animals, and property. Parents and guardians are asked to be aware of any catapults or similar items in their children's possession and to ensure they understand the potential consequences of irresponsible use.
We are asking residents to help us identify and prevent this behaviour. If you have witnessed the misuse of catapults, have seen individuals carrying or using them in parks or residential areas, or have CCTV, doorbell footage, or other information that may assist our enquiries, please get in touch. Even seemingly minor details could help us identify those responsible and prevent further incidents.
If you witness anti-social behaviour or criminal damage taking place, please report it to police via 101 or online at www.met.police.uk. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to life or property, please call 999.
Thank you for your continued support in helping to keep our neighbourhood safe.
Kind regards, George
